Set to release the guitarist’s solo metal album recorded with Metallica producer Flemming Rasmussen

Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce the signing of MONTE PITTMAN, the guitarist known for his work with metal legends Prong and the illustrious pop-star Madonna. A release date for the new solo album will be announced shortly so be sure to stay tuned to MetalBlade.com and MONTE PITTMAN’s website or Facebook page for updates.

Metal Blade Records founder and CEO comments; “We are so happy to welcome Monte Pittman to the Metal Blade Family. He is a tried and true metalhead and has recorded a crushing album! Metallica producer Flemming Rasmussen produced a devastating metal record with Monte and we could not be happier that we are working together on this!”

Guitarist and mastermind of the band, MONTE PITTMAN adds; “I’m beyond excited to be working with Brian Slagel and all of the wonderful team at Metal Blade.

I can’t think of anyone I can put my faith and trust in more with my new album and where my career is headed. Metal Blade’s track record has stood the test of time. Brian has been responsible for a majority of bands that have influenced me and gotten me to where I am now.

It’s been a dream come true making this album with Flemming Rasmussen. Flemming is a Master at recording a band playing together and capturing the sound in the room of everything musically working together. After we finished tracking, the first person I wanted to play it for was Brian Slagel. Here we go!”

Fans in California will have the chance to catch MONTE PITTMAN live as the he brings his acoustic show to Hotel Café in Hollywood and two stops on the Vans Warped Tour 2013 including Mountain View and Ventura (performing on the Acoustic Basement Stage).

Upcoming solo acoustic shows:
06/21 Hollywood, CA Hotel Cafe (on @ 8pm)
06/22 Mountain View, CA Warped Tour – Acoustic Basement Stage
06/23 Ventura, CA Warped Tour – Acoustic Basement Stage

About Monte Pittman:
Born and raised in Longview, TX, Monte Pittman made the decision at 24 to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a professional musician, and unfortunately having to leave his family, friends, and band Myra Mains behind. Upon arrival in LA, he made ends meet by working at a local music store. Realizing he was better at teaching than selling, he left to start providing guitar lessons.

As fate would have it, his third student would end up being British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, who had just received a guitar from his then girlfriend, Madonna. Soon after, Monte was introduced to the iconic performer, and became her guitar teacher as well. A month later, Monte was invited to join Madonna on stage at the David Letterman Show to promote her album, “Music.”

Monte has since played guitar on all of Madonna’s live tours and albums, starting with the 2001 Drowned World Tour, and shares writing credits on some of her songs. Monte has also played guitar for the band Prong. He is credited with co-writing songs on “Scorpio Rising” and “Power of the Damager” to which he also added backing vocals and bass. He also played guitar on Prong’s live album “100% Live.”

In November 2009, Monte released his debut acoustic solo album, “The Deepest Dark.” Almost a year after its release, a special bonus version of “The Deepest Dark” was released and immediately reached the No. 1 spot on the Best-Selling Acoustic Albums list at CD-Baby.com. It was also No. 9 in the Top 10 Best-Selling CDs for the Fall of 2010. In 2011, Monte launched a Kickstarter campaign for his second album, “Pain, Love & Destiny”. It raised a staggering $65,500, making him the top rock musician to raise the most money on the crowd-funding platform at that time. Monte met his initial goal of $5,000 in under 24 hours. It was released later that year and within its first week made it to No. 1 Rock Album, No. 1 Pop Album, and made it onto the Top 10 Albums chart on CD Baby. In addition, it cracked the iTunes Top 200.

Monte performed at the 2012 Super Bowl with Madonna and toured around the world on the MDNA Tour. He also performed at the 2012 Artists In Music Awards where he was given an award for Best Solo Artist in addition to being nominated in four other categories. Monte has also been honored with a Career Achievement Award from the Hollywood F.A.M.E. Awards. The Los Angeles Music Awards nominated him for Best Male Singer/Songwriter and Best Modern Rock Album for “Pain, Love, & Destiny”.

In November of last year, “M.P.3: The Power Of Three, Pt. 1″ was released. It’s a stripped down acoustic EP marking the beginning of Monte and Flemming Rasmussen’s working relationship.

In 2013, Pittman, along with band members Kane Ritchotte on drums and Max Whipple on bass, went to Copenhagen to record the upcoming album with producer Flemming Rasmussen. This marks Monte’s return to heavy music.

Keep up with Monte Pittman at www.montepittman.com

Al Jourgensen Biography, Ministry Live DVD Also Coming This Summer
LOS ANGELES, CA – June 18, 2016 — Al Jourgensen, six-time Grammy nominated godfather of industrial metal, will release his band Ministry’s 13th studio album, From Beer To Eternity, on September 6 (13th Planet Records). Pre-order info will be posted soon on Ministry’s Facebook. As fans of the band know, after last year there wasn’t going to be another Ministry album, but as Jourgensen put it recently, “I had no choice.”

Sessions for what would become From Beer to Eternity began last December at Jourgensen’s 13th Planet compound in El Paso, TX with Jourgensen (who produced the album, composed the music and wrote the lyrics for all 11 songs), guitarists Mike Scaccia and Sin Quirin, drummer Aaron Rossi and bassist Tony Campos. Rough tracks for 18 songs were finished on December 19, and three days later, the 47-year old Scaccia died from a heart attack he suffered onstage while playing a live show with his band Rigor Mortis in Dallas, TX. Jourgensen, Quirin, Rossi and Campos were absolutely devastated.

“We have never, in the history of Ministry, ever had a tracking session like that before,” states Jourgensen, “everything went so smoothly, it was surreal. And Mikey was so on fire and inspired, and really a driving force for this record.” After returning from Scaccia’s funeral in Dallas, and shouldering the weight of grief as well as the desire to honor his fallen comrade, Jourgensen locked himself in his studio with his engineer and co-producer Sammy D’Ambruoso for three excruciating months. “There was no choice,” Jourgensen says of the bittersweet production process. “During the tracking sessions, Mikey was smiling and going, ‘You know what, Al? This is by far and away the best Ministry album we’ve ever done together. This is awesome.’ I’m super proud of From Beer to Eternity because it’s my tribute to Mikey’s incredible talent, and I feel it honors him and all of the years we spent together making music.”

From the schizophrenic opening cut, the sarcasm-dripping, sound effect-laden “Hail to his Majesty (Peasants)” to the thrash-punk riffs andbooming bass reverberations of “Punch in the Face,” to “Change of Luck,” a song that Jourgensen wrote directly about Scaccia’s death, From Beer to Eternity pulls no punches, sounding at once familiar, yet completely fresh and inspired. The release also includes “Side F/X Include Mikey’s Middle Finger / TV4,” which old school Ministry fans will recognize as a continuum in a series of TV songs that began in the mid-1990s, and underscores Scaccia’s birthright as one of the greatest metal guitarists in the world.

“PermaWar,” the first single from From Beer to Eternity, will drop digitally via iTunes in late July as a three-track maxi single. Additionally, 13th Planet Records will be releasing special products for From Beer to Eternity, including a Special Limited Edition Digipak with 13 tracks, a special FanBox edition, as well as vinyl and limited edition 12″ inch picture discs.

Ministry will support From Beer to Eternity with a cavalcade of music videos, off-the-wall “making of…” digital clips, and an on-going “dog-blog” commentary by Jourgensen’s two Labradors, Lemmy and Ozzy, who were present every step of the way during the recording and mixing of From Beer to Eternity, and have launched their own Facebook page

(www.facebook.com/Ozzyandlemmyjourgensen ) to tell the tail. Uh, tale.

But wait, there’s more. In addition to From Beer to Eternity coming in September, July 9 will see the release of Jourgensen’s authorized biography, “Ministry: The Lost Gospels According to Al Jourgensen,” penned by Jourgensen with Jon Wiederhorn on DaCapo Books. “Ministry” is a memoir both ugly and captivating, revealing Jourgensen as a man who lived a hard life his own way without making compromises.” Then, the two-disc DVD “Ministry: Enjoy the Quiet – Live at Wacken 2012,” debuts at the already sold-out Wacken Open Air 2013 festival in Germany August 1-3. Shot live in concert at one of Ministry’s final shows of the band’s 2012 tour at Wacken’s Open Air in front of 75,000 fans, the DVD features “New World Order,” “99 Percenters,” “Ghouldiggers,” “Psalm 69,” “Thieves,” “Just One Fix,” and “Khyber Pass.”

About

Mix some Tom Waits with some Janes Addiction rockin in Jack Whites garage.
Biography

Welcome to the Razorhouse

The band draws its name from a chapter in the spiritual writings of the Mayan Popul Vuh. The Razorhouse is a deity, a house of living knives that stood in judgment of the gods. During the past year the band has recorded a dozen songs, with plans to release as several multi-song Codices throughout the next year. The debut 4-song Codex will be released in late Summer on Heatshield Records.

When forced at plastic knifepoint to describe our sound, we say:
If the Killers & Tom Waits had a love child (just go with the concept) then Razorhouse would be the afterbirth. Now that Razorhouse is all grown up our sound shoves its way forward with confident swagger, and the aural flavors of a dirty opium den.

The 1st codex is a gorgeous mixture of organic texture courtesy of guitarist Danny Shaffer (Julie Frost, Michael McDermott) and bombast from drummer David Suycott (Robert Pollard, Pigface) which allows Panick’s vocals to ease up on the grit and open up across the track soaring alongside his 12 string rhythm. While Matt Feddermanns solid driving bass lines hold things on course. Their Chicago based label HeatShield Records have them slated for a release in 2013 and Razorhouse intend to deliver along with a tour in the US and Europe.

Razorhouse full length release is slated for late August 2013 on HeatShield Records Ltd.

In an interview with British newspaper The Guardian, Kraftwerk’s Ralf Hütter has hinted that the band is to record a new album. Speaking about “The Catalogue” tour (based around the 2009 released boxset, “The Catalogue”, which held the band’s 8 albums) that will end Hütter was quoted saying: “Now we can concentrate on number nine.” Asked if there was a timeline, Hütter said: “Of course. It’s music non stop!”

It remains to be seen if this really means the start of a new series of releases from the German cult electroop band. The band’s last album was “Tour de France Soundtracks”, released 10 years ago.

In the meantime, the hunger for new Kraftwerk material is leading to dubious practices on trader forums. We were tipped off that a CD-r holding 3 ‘new’ Kraftwerk tracks is being traded here and there. The tracks on the CD-r are actually songs taken from the debut album “Mind the gap” by the Belgian act Metroland (a simple Shazam tag will prove it) which has a sound that is heavily based on Kraftwerk. Various copies of this CD-r were also being sold on eBay – where they reached prices going well over 500 euro – before being pulled by the auction site itself. The CD-r’s originate from Russia.

It just shows how much the public is looking out for some new Kraftwerk material.

Set for release this month via Plexus Publishing is the book “Cemetary Gates: Saints & Survivors Of The Heavy-Metal Scene” by Mick O’Shea.

A description of the illustrated paperback reads as follows: “Between genius and madness, this world and the next, there’s nothing but the faintest flicker of a pulse and the cemetery gates.

“Packed with as many egos as one book can hold, ‘Cemetery Gates’ is the read that takes you inside the minds of the most twisted icons of heavy metal.”

Featured artists:

* Ronnie James Dio (DIO, BLACK SABBATH, HEAVEN & HELL, RAINBOW)
* Bon Scott (AC/DC)
* John Bonham (LED ZEPPELIN)

Whatever their deadly sin — be it lust, greed, abuse of winged creatures or murder most foul — these prodigiously talented hellraisers have all come dangerously close to the edge. Tragically, not all of them have returned. Between tragic saint and raucous survivor, the line remains perilously thin.

“People ask me how I’m still alive and I don’t know what to say”, Ozzy once shrugged. “Cemetery Gates” provides the heaviest answer you’ll find this side of heaven.
